Superior North EMS Ambulance Involved in Accident While Transporting Two Patients

October 24, 2007 - A Superior North EMS ambulance has been involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle collision while transporting two patients to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The two patients had been involved in an earlier motor vehicle collision east of Ignace.

The ambulance accident occurred just west of Sistanen's Corner on Hwy 11/17.

One Superior North EMS paramedic was treated on the scene for serious injuries and then airlifted to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The other paramedic and the two patients were treated at the scene for minor injuries and transported to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in two other ambulances.

Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
