Paramedics Respond to Serious Accident on Dawson Road

November 13, 2003 Paramedics, volunteer first response teams, police officers, and volunteer firefighters responded to a serious motor vehicle collision this morning at 0840 on Dawson Road near Strawberry Hill. A three vehicle collision occurred on the highway between a snowplow, a van, and a 1/2 ton truck.

Paramedics and first responders assessed six people, and three children were treated and transported by paramedics to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital - McKellar ER. Three Superior North EMS ambulances, a SNEMS first response vehicle, Thunder Bay's air ambulance, and the Kaministiquia and Conmee first response teams and firefighters were on scene.

The injured included:

  1. a male with a serious leg injury;
  2. a female with a facial and arm injuries; and
  3. a female with a back injury;

Two of the injured persons required extrication from the van.
