Over the years, the people of Superior North EMS have made great contributions toward the United Way:
- We are strong supporters of the United Way of Thunder Bay.
- We have many Gold and Platinum levels of employees participating as donors.
- We volunteer on committees.
- Superior North EMS has provided a sponsored employee for three years.
- Two of us serve on the United Way Board of Directors.
- We had eleven Leaders of the Way in 2009.
- Over 91% of us at Superior North EMS generously contribute through payroll deduction.

Here are some facts about the United Way:
- All money contributed to the United Way ‘Community Fund’ stays in Thunder Bay to meet vital needs.
- The United Way fund-raising effort is driven by close to 1,000 volunteers.
- The ‘Community Fund’ brings together the people and resources necessary to create lasting change and to help: children as they grow, youth to build a positive future, adults seeking independence, individuals with disabilities or health concerns, families coping with a crisis or hard times, neighbourhoods to become stronger and more caring.
- One in three families are assisted each year through programs and services funded by donations to the United Way. United Way helps your family, your neighbours, and your co-workers.
- The United Way is working collaboratively with other funders and local organizations in order bring community resources together and to facilitate opportunities for youth, and for neighbourhood engagement.
- Over 280 United Way employee campaigns are conducted, raising over half of the overall campaign dollars.
