Which level of pre-hospital care medical service is appropriate for your event?
In an effort to help you determine the appropriate level of services for your event, Superior North EMS has developed a matrix of EMS Medical Services Resources.
Special considerations which may affect the recommended medical resources are:
- night versus daytime event
- number of active participants
- alcohol availability and anticipated use
- demographics of crowd
- number of attendees
- location of event/multiple locations/inside or outside
- weather/time of year
- length of event
- problems encountered with event in the past
For larger outside type events, Superior North EMS division needs to know:
- event date
- event time
- number of participants
- nature of event
- access and egress
Based on the information provided, a site plan may be requested and/or on site EMS may be required. Such decisions will be based on the factors listed above.
Any event located inside a City of Thunder Bay building does not require a review by EMS.
The matrix below will facilitate your planning process to determine what is required and what is recommended.
